Why Should You Attend This Conference?
The National Parks and Recreation Conference and Trade Show is an event that provides educational opportunities through program sessions and meetings, various networking opportunities and exceptional keynote speakers, that in the end, gains you both personal and professional development. It is structured to provide exceptional value that minimizes your days away from the office and fits within your training budget.
The program theme for this year’s conference, Healthy Communities... Cultivating the Vision, is based on raising the quality of life for all Canadians as identified within the Canadian Vision and Agenda that was launched at the 2005 National Conference. 2006 is an opportunity to bring this vision to life through a forum of education and networking so you can grow it in your community. The theme not only reflects Saskatchewan’s agricultural roots but it speaks to the action of involving others in preparing the groundwork, planting the seed and nurturing together as we grow the vision of healthy communities into reality.
Come prepared to meet new people, reconnect with friends, learn, laugh, share, and grow through this amazing event!

"Without a doubt, the CPRA/APRA conference was the best conference I’ve
ever had the privilege of attending. Invigorating and insightful keynote
speakers, fantastic entertainment, and valuable learning and networking
opportunities. As a new employee to the City of Edmonton at the time, this
conference introduced me to the indispensable work conducted by all those in
attendance and gave me a renewed sense of appreciation for their dedication
to the community. I can’t wait for the next one in Saskatoon!!"
Ian Howatt,
City of Edmonton, AB
"The 2005 CPRA Conference and Trade Show was amazing! I was re-energized
and motivated by the hi-quality speakers and sessions. The opportunity to
network with recreation professionals from across North America was an
enriching experience. The socials were another opportunity to network as
well as a time to recharge and relax. Overall it was both stimulating and
enjoyable."
Sean McKenna
City of Mount Pearl, NL
"CPRA conferences are always a worthwhile professional investment:
knowledgeable speakers, ground-breaking seminars and a great opportunity to
interact with leading Recreation professionals. The 2005 Conference broke
new ground with its four corresponding symposiums and the wave of speakers,
topics and discussions that ?owed from there. I was thrilled that the
information was so current and relevant that I could immediately apply the
information from the 2005 Conference in my professional and volunteer life.
A super conference in all aspects!"
