Opening Ceremonies and Keynote Address
Wednesday, September 26 (5:45 pm – 7:45 pm)
Hear Ye! Hear Ye!
You will feel most welcomed to this year’s Conference, starting with a
greeting from the National Capital Region’s renowned Town Crier, Daniel
Richer.
The site of the official opening of the 2007 National Parks and Recreation Conference and Trade Show will leave you breathless. The Canadian War Museum, with its spectacular location beside the Ottawa River and its stunning architectural design, is a military history museum of international stature. While bussing to and from the Museum will be available from the Crowne Plaza, why not take advantage of the short distance and walk along one of Ottawa’s most scenic routes. Kick off this years’ conference in style and with national pride.
Join us in welcoming our keynote speaker David Chilton, author of Canada’s all-time bestselling book, The Wealthy Barber, who has returned to speaking after a five-year absence. Chilton now speaks about more than just money including believing in yourself, overcoming mistakes (many of his are truly hilarious) and, most importantly, perspective – the missing ingredient in many people’s lives. His recipe for success is hard work, a clear vision and some clever marketing.
* Be sure to have dinner before the Opening Ceremonies start. Hors
d’oeuvres will be provided during the Trade Show Social.

Here you can enjoy Happy Hour at Gatineau's Studio 426. This is a great opportunity to meet the 2008 World Leisure Congress Québec staff, relax in a casual atmosphere, take full advantage of our special offers, participate in various contests, and, for those who still have some energy after a complete day of training, dance to the music of the 70's and 80's.
At 9 pm it’s time to make a choice! Three options are available to you: the first is to return to the Crowne Plaza, the option is to travel downtown for dinner with your colleagues at one of Gatineau's trendy restaurants; and the third offers you the opportunity to enjoy the Casino du Lac Leamy.
Friday night, come swing your partner!!!
Bus transportation to Gatineau from the Crowne Plaza will depart at: 6:30 pm, 6:45 pm and 7:00 pm. Return buses will leave Studio 426 at 8:30 pm, 8:45 pm and 9:00 pm. A late evening shuttle will leave the Casino at 11:00 pm with a stop outside Studio 426 at 11:05 pm.
