The Canadian Parks and Recreation Association (CPRA), Parks and Recreation Ontario (PRO), and the City of Ottawa invite you to join us at Canada’s National Parks and Recreation Conference and Tradeshow 2007 in Ottawa, Ontario from September 26 to 29, 2007.
The Nation's Capital is much more than just a beautiful city. Located on the banks of the Ottawa
River and Rideau Canal, Ottawa offers visitors a combination of national pride, a union of French
and English culture and plenty of Canadianna. Ottawa is a lively and spectacular city and a destination with something for everyone.
This year’s theme, “Connecting in the Capital”, places emphasis on the National Conference being held in our Nation’s capital, Ottawa. We invite delegates to “capitalize” on the opportunity to discover ew initiatives, programs and services from across the country, exchange ideas with national experts in our sector, and create a coast-to-coast-to-coast network of colleagues. The conference and trade show will help us 'connect in the capital' on a variety of levels.
Presentations for Canada’s National Parks and Recreation Conference will focus on meeting the outcomes of eight main program streams that address current trends and topics that affect our sector including:
- Infrastructure
- VolunteerismProfessional Development
- Inclusion and Access
- Adolescent Youth Development
- Parks, Open Spaces and Environment
- Physical Activity, Sport and Recreation
- National Initiatives
Conference Location
Canada’s 2007 National Parks and Recreation Conference and Trade Show will take place in the heart of the nation’s capital at the Crowne Plaza Hotel, 101 Lyon Street, Ottawa, ON just minutes away from the Parliament Buildings, Museums, Rideau Canal, and many other attractions. Other locations will also be used for various conference events including the Canadian War Museum, Museum of Aviation, and the St. Andrews Historical Landmark.

Canada’s 2007 National Parks and Recreation Conference and Trade Show set for Ottawa: September 26-29
OTTAWA, ON – July 11, 2007. The Canadian Parks and Recreation Association (CPRA) is pleased toannounce a partnership with Parks and Recreation Ontario (PRO) and the City of Ottawa in hosting Canada’s 2007 National Parks and Recreation Conference and Trade Show.
The National Parks and Recreation Conference and Trade Show is an opportunity for parks and recreation professionals to learn and share experiences within the field of parks and recreation
resulting in networking and bringing back home best practices for implementation. This event also provides opportunities to meet with product and service suppliers within the sector at the trade show, celebrate successes and honour award recipients.
The event will take place from September 26-29, 2007 at the Crowne Plaza Hotel in Ottawa. The last time the event was held in Ottawa, it was in conjunction with CPRA’s 50th Anniversary. CPRA and PRO last worked together to co-host the event in 2001 in Mississauga.
