Saskatchewan Parks and Recreation Association

June is Recreation & Parks Month (JRPM) is a great campaign that focuses on promoting a healthy and active lifestyle while still appreciating family, friends and community. JRPM works towards getting people participating in local events and learning to appreciate great company and the great outdoors.

Saskatchewan Parks and Recreation Association has coordinated this program for communities and park authorities within Saskatchewan since 2005 and offers many ways to get involved. Communities and organizations can register to become champions of the campaign with the JRPM Ambassador Program.  These communities and their events are shared on the SPRA website.  As an Ambassador, communities and organizations are also eligible to apply for a grant of up to $500.00 towards holding an event in June. In addition, JRPM merchandise can be purchased from SPRA to help promote the program and SPRA provides Ambassadors with flyers and posters to use around their community in support and encouragement of JRPM. A proclamation can also be signed at council and board meetings where a community leader can officially declare that they will be celebrating June is Recreation & Parks Month.

There are many ways for communities and organizations to get involved and to join in the momentum behind the program!
