As the first gathering of its kind, the Canadian Parks Summit mobilized leaders from across the country to pioneer a collaborative vision for Canada’s parks system, from local community open spaces to national parks.
The Canadian Parks and Recreation Association (CPRA) is pleased to release the 2018-19 Annual Report for the Green Jobs Initiative.
CPRA is pleased to announce that the Green Jobs Initiative has been renewed for 2019! Through this Initiative, CPRA will provide wage subsidies (up to 50%) for new green jobs for you in the summer and fall.
There is still funding available for fall/winter Green Jobs for youth (ages 15-30)!
Jobs can range from park/trail maintenance work, to planning green initiatives for next summer, to undertaking surveys and more.

CPRA is monitoring and working closely with Health Canada officials on the regulations that will support Bill S-228 - restricting the marketing of unhealthy food and beverages to children. Attached is a briefing note on the Bill and the potential implications it will have on the recreation sector in Canada.
The Common Vision was developed by federal-provincial-territorial governments as a guide to addressing physical inactivity and sedentary behavior among Canadians of all ages and abilities. The Common Vision was developed in close consultation with the sector including CPRA.
