What is the Forward Together Summit?
The Forward Together Summit brings the recreation and parks sector together to chart the course of our future. It is the national moment where a distributed sector becomes one voice, and where alignment turns into coordinated action.
The Summit is a key moment in the discussions around the evolution of the Framework for Recreation and Parks in Canada, the guiding strategy and shared agenda for recreation and parks sector. Phase 1 (2024) of the Framework project was dedicated to consultation, research and development and included engagement with more than 3,000 recreation and parks professionals and aligned partners across every province and territory.
Phase 2 is focused on putting the Framework into action through the Collective Impact model, including the development of a shared agenda, shared measurement tools, and mutually reinforcing activities.
Central to Phase 2 is the Forward Together Summit, which includes plenary sessions, networking opportunities, and the Day on the Hill, an opportunity for coordinated advocacy and engagement with federal decision-makers. The inaugural Summit drew over 150 participants, with representation from every corner of the country, including all 13 of CPRA's provincial and territorial members and more than 20 aligned partner organizations. Year 2 builds on that foundation.
