- Perform related work as required
- University Degree in Business, Education, Recreation Administration, Science, or a related specialized field.
- A minimum of 5 years of experience in program development, staff management, and customer experience enhancement, and volunteer management (managing across multiple locations)
- Familiarity with outdoor recreation equipment use and maintenance
- Familiarity with Edmonton’s Ribbon of Green strategy
- Familiarity working with Volunteers
- Familiarity with Intelli (RAMS) software
- Exhibits an ongoing dedication to lifelong learning
- Excellent interpersonal, leadership, and communication skills to effectively lead diverse teams.
- Excellent negotiation and facilitation skills for working with internal service providers and community partners.
- Proven ability to recruit, train, provide leadership and supervise subordinates
- Sound knowledge of processes for conducting needs assessments and developing, implementing and evaluating programs
- Demonstrated experience in budget management, financial planning, and securing grants or sponsorships.
- Ability to develop and implement short and long term strategic plans that align with the City Plan
- Must be able to show, through experience, an attentiveness to deadlines and an ongoing creative approach to programming
- Ability to respond to difficult situations, manage conflict, and problem-solve creatively

- Valid Alberta Class 5 driver's license (or provincial equivalent). Obtaining and maintaining a City Driver’s permit is a requirement of this position.

- Supervise and manage a team of approximately 300 staff, including performance reviews, learning plans, and performance plans
- Oversee the day-to-day operations of Commonwealth Stadium, Clarke Stadium, and Joe Clarke Athletic Grounds
- Ensure the safety and security of the facilities for all events and activities
- Evaluating and adjusting workloads, resources and priorities to achieve the vision and mission of the branch
- Develop and implement emergency preparedness plans
- Manage and maintain the Stadium's annual operating budget
- Coordinate with event promoters and producers to ensure the successful execution of events
- Collaborate with other City departments, including Edmonton Transit, Edmonton Police, and Emergency Services
- Contribute to the development of capital development plans and facility master plans
- Collaborate and maintain positive relationships with event promoters and ensure appropriate facilities and specifications for national, international and professional sport partners
- Knowledge, training and/or education in Physical Education, Recreation Administration, Business, Venue/Event Management, or a related discipline
- Progressively responsible supervisory/management experience in venue/event management, facility management, venue operations, or another related discipline
- Experience developing and implementing plans and processes across the line of business
- Experience working in a large, multi-purpose stadium or arena
- Knowledge of Canadian Football League operations and event planning
- Certification in event management or a related field

- Salary Range: $89,766 - $128,237 (Annually)
