Recreation and parks are a necessary public good, essential to the quality of life of Canadians. They contribute to creating vibrant, resilient communities; healthy, productive citizens; a robust, thriving economy; and the wellbeing of our natural and built environments.
In Canada, our sector is facing serious challenges that require swift intervention. We invite visionary leadership from the federal government, which can help our sector capitalize on the opportunities and meet the challenges of our shared future. Investments in the areas outlined herein will transform our country for a generation and help the government achieve objectives related to investing in infrastructure, strengthening healthcare, increasing wellbeing, greening our economy, improving outcomes for youth, fostering equity and inclusion, and surviving climate change.
